Fellowship Program Certificate

First: General Conditions:

The following general conditions must be met before being eligible to apply for the Fellowship membership:

1 - The applicant must be fully qualified.

2 - He must be of good conduct and behavior and have not been previously been subject to court mandated in the past.

Second – New Applicants for Audit License

The requirements for obtaining the fellowship program in accordance with Resolution No. (2-111) for the year 2022 are as follows:-

1 - The applicant must have a valid membership with the Emirates Association for Accountants and Auditors before the date of submitting the approved news.

2 - The applicant must have one of the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting.

OR

• A Bachelor’s degree in a specialization other than accounting. (e.g. Engineering, and others)

It is required to obtain 15 credit hours in accounting courses approved by the Ministry in accordance with Resolution (109) for the year 2022 from one of the universities accredited by the Ministry of Education in the country.

OR

• A Bachelor's degree in a specialization other than accounting, and holds a foreign fellowship certificate from one of the professional bodies that are members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

3 - It is required to attempt the three approved examinations, and achieve a passing score of not less than 60% in each exam. The examinations are as below:

• Accounting Standards Examination
• Auditing Standards Examination
• Legislation and Tax Examination

4 - Anyone who holds a professional certificate issued by the following professional associations is exempted from the first and second exams above. These members will still be required to attempt and pass the third exam (Legislation and Tax test),

• Association of International Certified Professional Accountants ( AICPA)
• Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
• Chartered Professional Accountants Canada
• Certified Public Accountants (CPA Australia)
• The Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA)

The following is in regard to granting a fellowship certificate to those registered in the Ministry of Economy before May 12, 2022:

1. The certificate is granted to registered natural persons practicing the profession in accordance with the following conditions:

• A valid membership in the Emirates Society of Accountants and Auditors.
• A valid registration certificate at the Ministry of Economy.
• A professional certificate recognized by the Ministry of Economy from one of the approved bodies mentioned in Resolution (805) of 2018 (21 approved bodies) - Note: This decision has been canceled for new applicants.
• Obtaining a continuous professional education program of (30 hours) for the purposes of equivalence of their professional certificates within a period of two years from May 12, 2022.

2- Those with existing auditor license but no IFAC approved body certificate:

The certificate is granted to registered natural persons practicing the profession and not holding a foreign fellowship certificate before the date of May 12, 2022, according to the following conditions:

• A valid membership in the Emirates Society of Accountants and Auditors.
• A valid registration certificate at the Ministry of Economy.
• Pass all approved exams within a period of two years from May 12, 2022.

Fourth – Fellowship Certificate from EAAA

The following are the requirements for granting a fellowship certificate from the Emirates Association for Accountants and Auditors:

• Submit a certificate of passing the approved tests. (Item 3 under Section 2).
• Provide evidence of obtaining 30 hours of continuing professional education (Item 1 under Section 3).
• Pay the prescribed fees.
